Debate on the Grand-Place

The summer of Europe

As many citizens leave their homes to go on vacation, so do our politicians, the parliaments close and the main focus in conversations turns from politics to gossip.
But it's still a good time to think over what's happening in the building of future Europe, as is this website, many things are "under construction". The size of the EU will increase soon, and the institutions will need to change the way they used to work, the political groups, with their different visions of what EU should be, may try to prevail the others.
So, while taking a rest, everybody should think about the future, our future, as european citizens. What are our needs, and how will it be possible to satisfy them best. The Convention is not only discussing what will happen in some place called Bruxelles, but how our future will be.
Many of us will travel and meet new people, and the best thing to do should be to discuss with them of what they think about Europe. The more we know about other people the more we will know about the problems that anybody has, and maybe their solutions. Write to us (gpe@eurplace.org) to let us know your ideas and your opinions.
Best whishes to everybody, in the hope that this summer will bring ideas and solutions in the minds of everybody, from citizen to politician.
